What is battery inverter?

A battery inverter is an electronic device that converts direct current (DC) from other sources such as batteries or solar cells into alternating current (AC) for use in power supplies. The lower DC input from the battery can be converted to higher AC by the inverter to power household appliances. When traveling outdoors or in remote areas, the inverter can meet the power shortage caused by the lack of power infrastructure. Battery inverters are often divided into different categories according to different applications and industries.

Function

Battery inverters can also perform the opposite operation, converting AC to DC to charge the battery pack. Battery inverters come in different sizes and capacities, depending on the power demand and the type of battery used. Battery inverters are used in a wide range of scenarios. A common application scenario is in RVs or campers. Generally, it can be used in conjunction with solar panels and MPPT controllers to form an off-grid system to power appliances in RVs. The voltage of the battery inverter must be consistent with the voltage of the battery pack. A 12V battery can only be connected to a 12V inverter, not a 24V or 48V inverter. The capacity of a battery inverter is generally expressed in W, ranging from 1 watt to any wattage. The capacity of a battery inverter depends on the customer’s usage scenario and expectations.

How to use battery inverter or power inverter correctly?

1. Choose a battery inverter with the same voltage as the battery;

2. The capacity of the battery inverter should preferably exceed the wattage of your home appliances;

3. Do not hold any metal to interfere with the connection between the inverter and the appliance when using it;

4. Connect the positive and negative poles of the battery to the battery inverter correctly;

5. Leave enough space to install the battery inverter, please avoid humid and high temperature environment;

6. Discharging and charging cannot be performed at the same time, the power inverter can only perform charging or discharging;

7. In order to avoid unexpected events, do not open the inverter casing to operate.
